******************************

I've never particularly liked odd numbers, don't know why. They have a certain something of incomplete, imprecise, missing. The year 2009 has been a odd year, among the other things....
It's not that I didn't like it as a year, nope! The year 2009 has been the year of changes, news, travels - I for sure enriched myself, inside, but my walled doesn't have my same opinion....

Right one year ago I was in Australia, the country of my dreams, to celebrate X'mas and New Year in the heat and on the beaches of thin white sand, together with exceptional relatives....then the big travels marked more or less the whole year, and not only travels: The first ski experience in my life in Yuzawa in February, Mito by car with JJ and Nagoya/Ise in April, paradise Bonin Islands in May, June divided between Sicily, Amsterdam and Germany, a marvelous lone tour in August around kyushu, September saw another fantastic tour of Kansai area, partly with company and partly alone, October and November were dedicated to friends and going out together towards the beaches in Kamakura and also towards the mountains and forests of Nokogiriyama and Takaosan, finally December I'm off to Kawaguchiko and Fuji, to conclude with the cute monkeys of Jigokudani park in Nagano...but no exotic destinations to spend he night of all nights. This year I celebrate Italian-Japanese way, that is dinner at home, in a typical Japanese house together with the same folks who helped me to get over the X'mas homesickness, and then - hopefully- a visit to a temple right after midnight to get any possible blessings and promise to ourselves to be a better person.

At work too, I faced the first shy personal successes and rewards, and slowly I seem to pave my way. There were, towards the end of the year, some new job opportunities, interesting and exciting, but which turned into fog and smog after a short time...tiny delusions which make understand a little bit more the world and the people around us and all the various strategies one has to plan and follow to be always on top.

Also, year 2009 was marked by conflicts and subsequent reconciliations, which left scars but not for this reason they have to be considered negative facts.
In summary, even though a odd year characterized by the typical incompleteness and imprecision of the odd numbers, the year 2009 has been satisfying and thought me many things.

Now, 2010 is a even year, round year, finite year...
And now, wear your red underwear, be it brand new, get pretty and happy 2010 everyone.
