Ma quello che rende unico un paese come il Giappone è l'uso esagerato di accessori e gadgets. In fatto di biciclette, l'accessorio per eccellenza è il seggiolino per i bambini. Anche qui la fantasia dei produttori, combinata ai gusti e alle esigenze dei genitori, non ha limiti.
E' molto comune vedere in giro bici corredate di doppio seggiolino, uno posto davanti, proprio tra la sella e il manubrio, a fare da compagnia al cestino immancabile in ogni bici che si rispetti, e uno posto dietro. Ci sono i seggiolini ultra sicuri, con cinture di sicurezza, fibbie, sbarre varie, così che i bambini di tutte le età possono godersi il panorama cittadino in tutta sicurezza. Ci sono poi quelli un pò scomodi, poveri loro, rappresentati da una semplice struttura in metallo, ma ci sono anche quelli super comfort per un viaggio veramente rilassante.
Poi ancora, poichè i giapponesi non conoscono stagioni e usano la bici tutto l'anno anche sotto la pioggia, allora non possono certo mancare i seggiolini con tanto di cabina in plastica trasparente così che i poveri pargoli possono soffocare sotto lo strato leggero di protezione. Di ultima concezione poi, il seggiolino in fronte può essere ricavato a cavallo del manubrio, proprio tra le due maniglie. Vedere in fondo per credere.
Ora mi vorrei però concentrare sulla fatica che devono provare le povere mamme quando si trovano ad accompagnare i bambini all'asilo o a trascinarli in giro per fare spese e simili: le donne giapponesi, che sono piccole per natura, fragili, sono davvero brave a pilotare la loro bici nel traffico pur con 2 bambini a bordo, a meno che debbano fermarsi all'improvviso per evitare una situazione di pericolo. In quei casi perdono il controllo del mezzo, e non mi stupirebbe se non fossero in grado di reggere il peso di una bici e il bagaglio extra rappresentato dai figli!!!
Ma poi, quello che soprattutto mi chiedo: questa tipologia di trasporto eccezionale è contemplato nel codice della strada? E' lecito?

In matters of bicycles, the top accessory is the baby seat. Here, too, the producers' creativity, combined with the parents' likings and needs, has no limitations. Very common to see bicycles around, supplying a couple of baby seats, one on the front, between the handles and the driver's seat, together with the basket available in all the serious bicycles, and one on the back. there are the ultra-safe seats, with security belts, wrappings, bars, so that all the kids of all ages can enjoy the city views in safety.
There are then the ones a bit uncomfortable, poor kids, made up of a simple metal structure, but there are also the super comfort seats for a very relaxing journey.Then, additionally, for the Japanese don't know differences in seasons and use the bicycles the whole year, then the baby seats with a plastic transparent cabin cannot miss,and the poor pupils can suffocate under the thin protective layer.Of latest creation, the baby seat can be placed between the two handles, have a look below to believe it.
But now I'd like to focus on the fatigue the poor moms can feel when they have to take the kids to school or take them around: the Japanese women, small by nature and fragile, are very good in piloting their bicycle in the traffic even with 2 kids on board, unless they have to stop suddenly because of a dangerous situation. In such cases they lose the control of the means, and I won't be surprised if they couldn't hold firmly a bicycle with extra baby luggage!!!
But, I ask to myself mostly: is this sort of special transportation, cited among the traffic rules? Is it allowed?
