Respect!

Prima di tutto, rispetta te stesso, ama te stesso. E come fai con te farai con gli altri. Lo ripeto sempre, cerco di fare di questa massima una massima di vita. Ma a volte mi dimentico….

Ho ripensato a tutte quelle volte in cui, pensando di amare me stessa, stavo invece facendo il contrario..tutte quelle volte in cui, per piacere agli altri, o per far piacere agli altri, ho sottovalutato quello che stavo facendo.

E devo ringraziare un amico a me caro, che mi ha fatto vedere, tramite un semplice commento, la realtà celata dietro al mio far contenti gli altri. 

La chiave per essere rispettati dal prossimo e' infatti non aver paura di dire basta, di dire no, perché di certo non e' facendo contenti gli altri che facciamo contenti noi stessi.

First things first. Respect yourself, love yourself first. And as you do with yourself, you will do with others. I keep reciting this mantra, I try to make of this saying a life's commandment. Sometimes I forget….

I have thought about all the times when, thinking I was loving myself, I was actually doing the opposite…all those times when, to be pleased or to please I underestimated what I was doing.

I have to thank a dear friend who owned my eyes, by just a honest comment, the truth behind being keen to please.

The key for getting respect by others is, indeed, not being afraid to deny, to refuse, because it is not by pleasing others that we please ourselves.
