Cose di casa

Ho provato a sistemare casa. Non mi piace più, voglio cambiarla. Nel senso di ridecorare gli interni. Purtroppo, essendo in una casa in affitto, non mi e' concesso fare praticamente nulla, niente buchi nei muri, niente pitture, niente lavori di ristrutturazione, niente aggiunte, niente rinnovo del bagno (quello che più mi piacerebbe sistemare difatti e' proprio questa parte di casa).

Le unita' abitative costruite intorno agli anni ottanta qui in Giappone, come il palazzo dove vivo, sono state progettate senza criterio nell'utilizzo intelligente degli spazi. E, parliamone, i giapponesi dovrebbero essere esperti in questo, visto che di spazio ne hanno ben poco…

Non ho mai visto un utilizzo dello spazio così scarso come a casa mia….l'appartamento e' organizzato così male, ma così male che penso 4 o 5 metri quadrati riuscirei a recuperarli se mi dessero la possibilita di fargli un disegno…gli angoli, le pareti divisorie, porte..Poi, le due cose più importanti, cucina e bagno, sono davvero stati messi li per caso proprio.

Ho fatto del mio meglio nell'arredare casa in maniera comoda e funzionale, ma viste le limitazioni intrinseche non posso fare molto.

Un piccolo cambiamento che ho tentato pero' in questi giorni e' stato quello di costruirmi delle mensole da appendere su una parete tanto vuota e tanto male utilizzata (se lasciata spoglia). Il risultato sarebbe stato ottimale se avessi semplicemente evitato un piccolo stupido errore di valutazione: la larghezza delle mensole era troppo grande per i supporti che avevo, quindi il peso avrebbe sicuramente fatto cadere tutto. E ricordiamoci che non posso forare le pareti…

In sostanza, tentativo numero uno fallito.

Dovrei contattare un falegname e farmi costruire i mobili su misura, come li desidero. Ma non vale la pena visto che questa non e' casa mia.

Forse meglio arrangiarmi con la casa che ho, dopo tutto…

I tried to reorganize home. I don't like it and I want to change. Not home, I mean re-decorate home. Unfortunately, as I am renting a place, I am not allowed to do basically anything, no holes in the walls, no paint, no restructuring, no additions, no renovation, especially the bathroom area which I would love to fix indeed.

Apartments like mine here in Japan, built around the 80's, were planned with no criteria whatsoever in clever usage of space. And, objectively, the Japanese should be experts in this, as they have very little of space…

I have never seen such a scarce use of space, like at my place…the apartment is arranged so bad, but so bad that i guess I could recover 4 or 5 square meters if only they gave me the opportunity to draw them a plan…dead corners, inner walls, doors. Then, the two most important elements in a home, kitchen and bathroom look like they were installed at random, seriously.

I did my best in furnishing the place in a cozy and functional manner, but due to the intrinsic limitations I can do very little.

A small change I tried in these last days was to build some shelves to hang on a empty useless (useless if left empty) wall. The results could have been optimal if I simply had avoided a very little stupid error in evaluation: the width of the shelves was too big for the supports I had, and the weight of the whole shelf itself would have pulled down the whole thing. Let's remember I can't drill holes…

So, result is attempt number one failed.

I should get hold of a carpenter to ask him to build the furniture on demand, as I wish. But it is not worth the expense, because this is not my house.

Perhaps I have to be content with what I have, then…
