Playgrounds

Giri l'angolo e porti i pargoli a giocare un po' all'aria aperta.

Niente, nada! Solo terriccio nero e sterile.

So, why are playgrounds so sad here in town? There are millions of them around the metropolitan area, which is good. You walk past the corner and take the kids to play in the open. If you are lucky, you might have a playground in your building…in my building, for instance, are three. Small, of course, but they still represent a diversion for the little ones. Imagine, how useful it is for the mothers: the children play downstairs and they can stay at home cleaning, cooking, or whatever.

But, there is a big but. Such playgrounds are so infinitely sad! There is no park, I mean no one, where you can find grass! Nothing, nada! Just black and sterile black sand. Why?
Although, there are trees, cherry trees, trees with red leaves, so that any seasons, spring or fall, they are pretty too. But, I mean, the ground is so sad without grass, without some green!

I thought that maybe they don't plant grass there because of pets, so that they don't use the playground out of necessity. But I then recall scenes of caring owners cleaning where their pets make dirt. Nope, this can't be the reason. And, then, how about the big parks in the city where there is grass?

Maybe they don't plant grass because they don't want to take care of the playgrounds, but I also remembered that the sand, too, either because of people walking on it or because of bad weather, sooner or later is dusted away and it requires intervention to replace. Nope, this too can't be a reason.
Sometimes, like fir the playground near my place, behind the temple, they use the space to park the cars….

Playgrounds in the city are really sad….
