Series of consecutive pages, printed or handwritten, of the same size, bound together in a cover...
The instrument of knowledge...
A real treasure...

These are some of the definitions of "book" I can find from the top of my head.
Whatever the definition, though, the use one makes of a book doesn't change: transfer some knowledge. Be it used to transfer myths or legends, be it used to document facts and events that really happened, be it used to learn what is still unknown, be it used to express out innermost selves, be it used to share experiences of life, be it used to convey emotions....in any case it always is an endless source of knowledge.

In choosing a book, when the search is aimed to nothing specific, I always let the case choose for me: i am curious about the title, I am inspired by the cover, I am intrigued by the topic..and 9/10 times I am satisfied by the choice.
Any one surely has their own favourite book, the one that, who knows why, has shaken us somehow.
I think I have found mine, accidentally, during one of my usual searches, without actually being looking for it: a collection of citations extracted from the works of one of the most appreciated writers of our times, Paulo Coelho. The collection is entitled 'Amor', it is in Spanish, and it is enriched by a series of beautiful illustrations. It's arranged in various sections, each of which is one of the many manifestations of love: gift, transformation, overcoming, solidarity, affinity, search, greatness, art of being together.

It popped out, there, in front of my nose and there it stayed. And forever will.
