Travelogue

******************

Always flying, always mid-air, always in the transit areas of yet another airport...

Sitting in a plane, looking out, gives a feeling of being omnipotent. How many times haven't we, travelers for fun, business, health, need, thought of putting a hand out and touch the clouds! How many times would we simply stretch an arm and move them away to see what's below us!They 're like cotton, candy floss, a thick but soft layer of fresh snow.

What's most fascinating in catching planes is right the flight itself rather than the reach of a destination. When one arrive they already know what to expect, they stop, they have the time to reconnect all the parts of themselves, they have time to think...
Keep traveling, instead, is none of those, one need to focus on the moving and never knows what can happen.

There's already someone waiting for you in Catania to take you eat a gorgeous ice cream...in Rome you wait for a quick lunch with company or even better to spend the night over, and while waiting you watch other people just arrived or about to leave, you watch all the ones who wait at the terminal waving big papers with the names of their clients....Paris, London as theatre of missed encounters, cities which, seen from above, you can't wait to land to walk in them...Beijing with its chatty Chinese and its new and catchy architecture...Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, Frankfurt, Wien, Melbourne, Sydney and its white fine beaches, Brisbane as doors to Australia....every journey, every transfer gives a story to remember and to tell, every departure supposes an arrival, unless is the last, the returning back.

Tokyo is always the city of the return, it's where exhaustion is released, it's where one realizes who we are - or we are not, it's where the sound of the train brings back to reality, it's where one has eventually time to think, where what we have tried to forget comes back and what we would like to remember goes away...Tokyo is, all in all, home.
