L'anno della tigre -- The year of the tiger

Miao.
********************************

I arrived in Japan almost at the end of the year of the pig....

That year lasted very little, four months, and gave way to the year of the rat. Four months are too few to be able to draw some conclusions, evaluations, resolutions for the next year. The rat, being small and fast, was the first one to run at the call from buddha, helping himself by using a trick, and because of that it's the favourite animal among the Chinese.

The year of the rat was a year of tiny but important progresses. It was a year that started in the worst way, really, and for the whole year I had to deal with what happened. There were beautiful moments, and bad moments. But I made it. It was the year of a special meeting, with Giordana and her journey around the world, her life, her books to be written and a everlasting friendship. And it's also the year of the total and absolute independence. With the year of the rat, according to the Chinese calendar, a new cycle begins and nonetheless my personal year zero begins with it.
It was supposed to be a dynamic and stimulating year, with difficult and very dramatic contrasts. And it was indeed.

Year 2009 is the year of the ox, patient and strong animal, hard working and not complaining. And it brought it on: new friends, a lot of events, professional growth, travels here and there, half world observed from a plane window.....so, a real year as bulls.

February this year, exactly on 14th, comes the year of the tiger and hence my tiger, lion, leopards friends be ready to roar because this is your year and mine, too....metaphorically speaking.
The tiger is a symbol of courage and protects the house from fire, thieves and ghosts (don't ask me why right those three, I can't answer...).

It is not my guide animal, but as I am considered by many as a feline being (I swear I am not inventing, and I am proud), and reflecting me myself such animal, I guess this year can sort of be my year, so all I have to do is polish my fur, sharpen my claws, refine my sight, train my body and make my look more elegant.
Meow.
