Dicembre nipponico -- December in nippon

I festeggiamenti natalizi prevedono infatti celebrazioni 'in famiglia', stile tradizionale, senza troppi eccessi.

For the first time since my arrival in Japan, I am spending the whole Christmas holidays in the country of the rising sun. Far from the cold and yet warm Sicily, far from the hot Australia, this year Christmas is to be spent at home. Celebrations are to be enjoyed with the 'family', as tradition wants, with not too much excess.
But the month is still filled with activities and events. First of all there's christmas decorations and the fantastic illuminations that every year challenge the Japanese electricity providers. And it is very beautiful indeed, to go and see what the decoration artists were suggested by their creativity.
But that's not all. Skiing season is open, gifts shopping starts, dinners and parties go on, trips are arranged - even if only for a limited distance and with a deep breath of the wallet....
It's getting colder, we have to cover up well and be careful not to catch a cold at the last minute, just to waste a weekend.

Previewing nostalgic feelings in this period of the year, I organized my month in order to keep myself busy and hopefully the plans will not change.
