One of the summer festivals I didn't attend last year is the Indonesian fest. So I went this year. And I went with Ursula, German collegue here for only two months but with a lot of energy and keen to sightseeing. We do the classic walk Harajuku-Shibuya and then we decide to have a look at the festival.

The Indonesian community in Tokyo must be really small, because with respect to other ethnic festivals I saw, this one was small and empty. Few booths with food and local products, and yet dance and songs on a stage were frequent. Little care in the costumes, little interest in attracting people perhaps. But Indonesian food is good.

One can't even say the weather was bad and hence the attendance was low, because the weekend was sunny and warm, the nearby Yoyogi park was full of people doing sports or chilling put on the grass. There must be another reason why this festival wasn't so successful. Probably, people who went saw no crowds and left.

Anyways, at the park we saw a show offered by some Japanese, fans of the 50's rock'n'roll, who danced on Elvis-style sounds the all afternoon.

The day ends with the usual stroll along Omotesando to have a look at the fashion icons' show rooms and shops.
