Total eclipse of a .....sun

***************************

July 22nd, in this side of the world we can assist a total solar eclipse. The moon, indeed, rotating around the earth, will sit in between sun and earth, giving us 6 good minutes of dark darkness at around 11am.

Who's among the lucky ones who, prior authorization to walk the land blessed by the universe for such a phenomenon, paid lots of money for a long weekend in Okinawa (Jp) will experience a total eclipse. The others, that is the poor common residents in Tokyo area, have to be content with a partial eclipse of around 70%...which is not bad.

Coincidentally, the weekend immediately before the day for the eclipse is a long one because the Monday is a holiday. And in Japan people travel on long weekends. However, who wants to see the eclipse in the Japanese tropical paradise, must hurry up: since the islands don't have enough hotels and accommodations, there will be a race for the reservation of the last rooms remaining. Also, prevented the massive amount of people will gather there, intuitive solutions like camping are out of question. We don't want to overpopulate the islands, right? Well, I guess many would love to.

Anyways, the demand for the weekend destination being high, the hotels adequate and prices rise: a 3-day weekend, all inclusive, would cost around 2500euros..and they say there's no commercialization!!

We will see what happens on 22nd. I'll be surely among the first ones who will run outside on the lawn..we're scientists after all, yes?
