T-shirt Mania

I giappi vanno davvero davvero matti per le t-shirt con strane scritte. Andare in giro per i negozi di abbigliamento alla ricerca della scritta più matta che c'è è uno sport senza eguali per me, e spesso trovo roba davvero impossibile. Purtroppo non mi è possibile fare foto dei capi perchè mi richiamerebbero subito, già provato. Ma se potessi lo farei.

Nella maggior parte dei casi il tema è hawaiano, con slogan che spingono ad andare al mare o a divertirsi a fare surf o simili. Ma spesso le scritte sono buttate li a caso, senza connessione una con l'altra, giusto per rendere una maglia davvero impossibile. Per le ragazze poi le scritte su amore, dolcezza, carineria, bellezza si sprecano, sono anche arricchite di glitter e inchiostri platinati e luminescenti per attirare ancora di più l'attenzione.

Ovviamente alcune di queste maglie vanno acquistate, e così ho fatto, seppure la mia scelta è caduta sulle meno strane, c'è sempre una parte di me che si vergognerebbe a sfoggiare quelle più assurde e insensate. Ah, una cosa vale la pena di dirla: solitamente compro le mie maglie al reparto bambini (perchè mi stanno attillate sui fianchi invece che cadere a palloncino come quelle per adulti), e trovare tali scritte soprattutto nelle maglie per le ragazze mi sconcerta un pochino...o almeno io non le comprerei certo per mia figlia, ma si sa, qui si è in Giappone, dove il concetto di moda e tendenza è ben diverso che altrove.

Stamattina io e Morana abbiamo deciso che è giunto il momento di acquistare alcune di queste magliette, per cui siamo andate al negozio vicino casa per iniziare la ricerca e abbiamo anche avuto abbastanza fortuna.

The Japanese turn very crazy about t-shirts with weird writings. Going around the clothing shops to hunt the wrongest t-shirt is a sport with no equals for me, and I often find very impossible stuff. Unfortunately I can't take photos of the items, indeed they would complain immediately, already tested! But I'd do if I could. In the most cases the theme is Hawaii, with some advertisement pushing to go to the beach, or to have fun surfin or so.

 Usually the writings are just dumped there, with no connections between one sentence and another, to make the shirt very very wrong. For the girls shirts, then, writings on love, cuteness, sweetness, beauty are over-abused, enriched with glittery, shiny inks and bright prints to catch the attention.

Obviously some of those t-shirts must be bought, and so I did, even though my choose fell on the less weird ones, there's a part of me who would be ashamed to wear the wrongest ones. Ah, and one thing is worth to say: usually I buy my t-shirts in the kids shops (because they stay tight on my hips, rather than the woman's shirts that are very large), and findings such writings on the teenagers' shirts is a bit worrying...or at least I won't buy them for my daughter. But here we're in Japan, where the concept of fashion and trendy is far different than anywhere else.

This morning me and Morana decided that the time to buy some of such t-shirts has come,so we went to a shop nearby to start with the survey and we got quite lucky.
